Las fresas son nativas para ambas Europa y América del Norte. Hay ahora centenares de variedades de fresas con fruta mucho más grande. Muchas fresas son híbridas de variedades europeas y americanas. Están crecidos de Escandinava hasta el Ecuador. Hay variedades que llevan cargando su fruta de golpe en junio; y otros que frutan dos veces durante el verano. Al contrario de más otras frutas, se puede cosechar fresas dentro de un año.
Con su fuente abundante de vitamina C y pectina, una fibra soluble, ellos nos protegen de una variedad de enfermedades. Las fresas también contienen abundancia de ácido elagico, un antioxidante luchador poderoso contra cáncer.

Strawberries are native to both Europe and North America. There are now hundreds of varieties of strawberries with much larger fruit as a result of cross breeding native European and American plants. They are grown from Scandinavia to the Equator. There are varieties that bear their fruit all at once (June bearers); and twice during the summer (ever-bearers). Unlike most other fruits, you can harvest strawberries within one year.
With their rich supply of vitamin C and pectin, a soluble fiber, they protect us from a variety of diseases. Strawberries also contain plenty of ellagic acid, a powerful cancer fighting antioxidant.
